desktop MCX

Hi

I’m trying to manage the desktops specifically the desktop wallpaper for a group of 10.5.5 clients.

First thing i try is to hunt out the desktop.plist file to add into WGM……but lo and behold there isn’t one on any of the 10.5.5 machines on our estate.

I’ve looked in ~/Library/Preferences/ but can find no com.apple.desktop.plist file. plist files for the dock, dashboard, finder et al are there…but no desktop.plist

I’ve tried looking in the library folder of accounts with network home folders and local admin accounts but nothing in any of these accounts.

I need to be able to get hold of a desktop.plist file, the only one i can find is one from a powerbook running 10.4.9 will this be compatible when it comes to managing the desktop picture of clients running 10.5.5 ? If so, what entries do i need to copy to the ‘Always’ key in order for the wallpaper image on each client to remain consistent.

Running 10.4.9 server…..so can only manage the server from a client running the 10.4 admin tools.

Any ideas ?
