i think i made a big mistake when i first setup my server. i posted a question regarding removing old unused imap accounts to the 10.3 server list and noone responded, so i took matters into my own newbie hands and deleted the users files in /var/imap/user, var/imap/quota, and /var/imap/spool/user in the terminal using rm -r user. pretty dumb… i guess!

now, when i list my mailboxes with cyradm those deleted mailboxes showup and i can’t setaclmailbox or deleteaclmailbox. i guess there in the db, but don’t have the mailboxes to delete.

i don’t know if this is doing any harm, but how can i safely remove these unwanted users the right way?

    for example:
    Other Users/test (\HasChildren)
    Other Users/test/Deleted Messages (\HasNoChildren)
    Other Users/test/Drafts (\HasNoChildren)
    Other Users/test/Sent Messages (\HasNoChildren)
    localhost> listaclmailbox “Other\ Users/test”
    test lrswipcda
    localhost> setaclmailbox “Other\ Users/test” mymailadmin lrswipcda
setaclmailbox: msadmin: lrswipcda: System I/O error

    any suggestions?

    thanks,

    charles
