    Hello all,

I created a Custom Remote Desktop Installer from ARD to install the Remote Desktop Client AND create a user (which is subsequently given permission to do whatever it needs via ARD).

When I put this into the InstaDMG workflow, it enables Remote Management in the Sharing Pref Pane, but does not add the user. When I run it as a standalone package, it works fine, including creating the user and adding that user to the permitted users to remotely manage the computer.

I put it at the very end of my customPKG folder, right before clearReg.pkg.

Does anyone have any experience with this that could help me figure out why it’s not installing properly?

    Thanks!
    Jason

We script ARD. You can create a package to run in the build train or run it as a first boot script.

Here’s the posting on starting ard from a package in the build train:

    Last post on that page.

Notice the $3 is what points to the disk image that your creating with instadmg when you run the script. This is the main difference between running scripts before first boot and after.

A little searching this forum should shed some more light on the ARD setup.
