This is my first post here I hope it goes well.

    Ok,

I have an old G3 tower with 512 ram and a small 6 gig harddisk

It is running OSX server on a small network – 7 Mac OSX workstations, 3 of which use an airport

I inherited this network about 2 months ago when I started my new job. This is my first MAC server experience but I have found it similar to other networks I have worked on.

Anyway I am experience random corrupted Apple Works files which are linked via a calendar app. The files all reside on the server which is running DRIVE 10 and VIREX …everything seems ok diagnostically.

I am trying to simulate various client scenarios to observer the problem..but I have found no pattern. So I want to ask …. IS MY SERVER OVERTASKED and UNDER POWERED – I say yes..my boss says no..so read below and then tell me what you think please:

    My server is-
serving appleworks files for 7 clients- about 250 of them accessed throughout the week in various orders

    hosting the local intranet
hosting a VPN to our other office
it has QT streming enabled because we have 3 movies which we sometimes show via the intranet

    Bandwidth

100Mbs per second fiber coming in. 4 port Corega Router (I am in Japan so u may not know the model it is like a small DLink or Lynksis). 3 hubs to allow The airport and 2 other computers to connect.

    Misc

Maybe during the day one computer is streaming ITUNES audio in the lobby at 128k .

    Sorry for the length

    Tony D
