Postscript fonts stop working almost daily requiring root login and cache removal from client machines to make them work again. All clients on OSX 10.2.2 with network home directories on OSX Server 10.2.2
Caches deleted with restart required:
/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.FCacheSystemDomain
/Library/Caches/com.apple.FCacheLocalDomain
/Users/username/Caches/com.apple.FCacheUserDomain
Primarily Abode Illustrator lastest version, although once the caches have become corrupted no application will display (even in menus) the fonts. Restart, relogin etc. make no difference and the only way to get these fonts to appear is to delete said caches and restart.
This only occurs with our postscript fonts. All standard OSX install fonts work OK. This problem has only really appeared since using network home directories, and not from the very outset. It has gradually become worse. Other oddities include the fact that certain managed settings don’t work – default homepage, mail account settings etc., so wether this is limnked I don’t know.
Actually this also occurs on Macs without Adobe Illustrator installed. Generic install for our Macs is all Apple iApps plus MS Office and FMPro only. No font management software or anything else.
