I know there have been other questions and answers about how to do this. I apologize if the answer I seek is already in one of those threads. I cannot find it. A few months ago I stumbled upon an article I think was written by MacTroll on how to do this. He had originally written this for Panther. In the comments that followed it he mentioned a much easier method for use in Tiger. It involved deleting the user in netinfo on the client machine then logging in as another admin user and changing some permissions then finally logging in as the network user. When asked whether to create local home directory it would then copy all the user data from the local machine back to the server without all the hulabaloo of ditto or target disk mode, etc. I used the instructions then and it worked like a charm. I thought I had saved a record of the procedure but now I can’t find it. If anyone could point me to these instructions I would be grateful. Thanks in advance.

MacTroll if you are reading this…..I have taken many a class with you and Schoun. Missed WWDC this year but looking forward to learning all the tricks in Leopard from you guys in January.

    Thanks again for the help.
