Hi I am having a problem with ARD.

I have a remote server that i have been ARD’ing into for a few weeks now, however when i try to connect now i get a “would you like to ask permission to control XXXX” and then a refusal.

I can SSH into the box and have tried repairing permissions using diskutil but it’s still the same. does anyone know how to check or edit the Apple remote client settings in system preferences via SSH and terminal.
    Any help is much appreciated.

    Kind regards

Two possibilities come to mind –
    1. The server thinks you’re still connected, but you’ve lost control. You can try restarting ARD.

    2. If that doesn’t do it, instructions for reconfiguring ARD via ssh are here:
(check your version. The doc is for 2.0, but has links for prior versions)

Just a note to say Ta for the tips, i think that i needed all of them in the end, i restarted the ARD agent and reset the access rights then deleted the ARD admin prefs and then managed to get back in.

    Thanks all for the help
