configuring a network share on a tiger server as a spotligt server

hi there,

i am lost
i am trying to configure our tiger (10.4.3) server to act as a spotlight server over afp to the 5 clients. and when the users add new files or change them the server should maintain the index.

i tried:

Apple intentionally disabled Spotlight from being enabled across an AFP connection in 10.4.
