Colo Backup

I am moving 2 of my Xserves to a colo facility and want to use one Xserve to be a local bu for the other. Not a duplicated machine, simply a bu of hosted files.

Because I am charged for bandwidth beyond a set amount I am curious as to what my options can/could be.

I am thinking of setting up a FW link between the two so that the traffic doesn’t technically transfer across the network.

If using FW what software should I use to perform the backup. I own Dantz, but don’t recall being able to specify which ports to use.

FFI-
I set up the FW link, created a private IP range and just backed up using FW overIP.
Does not increase traffic costs.
