Client Software Crash

[PS78]

I have an Xserve G5 running 10.4.8. It is an open directory server in a school environment for about 20 G5 imacs and 15 G4 ibooks.
Recently when the pupils are logged onto the iMacs Garageband has started to crash. Basically one machine will freeze, then straight away 5 or 6 more freeze. All have the same crash log:

We have tried removing prefs, fsck, all relevant updates. We are also going to try isolating the gigabit switch to see if network traffic could be causing an issue. Could anybody tell me from the crash log whether this problem is coming from the server end or client.

Several months ago the switch was upgraded to a Cisco gigabit switch. The problems started about 2-3 weeks ago so I do not think this has any bearing.
Any help would be appreciated.

In case no one figured this out, delete /Library/QuickTime/Motion.component if /Library/Frameworks/Motion.framework doesn’t exists.
