Changing binding policies have no effect.

Yet another problem with Open Directory (sigh..). Changing any of the binding policy settings results in this message in /Library/Logs/slapconfig.log:

“Could not set bdb record with new olc access information”

Require authenticated binding is checked, yet I can still do LDAP queries without authenticating. Checking the “Allow users to edit their own contact information” setting doesn’t work, it reverts back to off.
I’ve seen others having the same problem, but no resolution.
