(Still working with this brand new, clean install of 10.4 Server set up as an OD Master, DNS works fine, Kerberos is running fine I believe, set as a PDC.)

So I set an OD Password Policy so that user passwords couldn’t be their user name, must contain a letter and a number, and must be at least 7 characters long. I also clicked the box which would make them change their passwords at first login.

I then created a couple of test users and gave them some generic passwords. However, when trying to log on, I’m confronted with "The User name or old password is incorrect. Letters in passwords must be typed using the correct case. Make sure the Caps Lock key is not accidentally on [sic]."

I’ve tried removing the password policy, removing the requirement that users change it at log on and attempted to change it from a Ctrl-Alt-Del, just using letters, etc. No luck.

How might I be able to rectify this? Any ideas as to where I should begin to look for clues as to what’s going on?

Thanks again for any advice. BTW…great resource and excellent help here. When first thinking about switching over to a Mac server, I read through this site thoroughly and am now feeling pretty comfortable and confident while I’m configuring this. Kudos especially to Joel and Josh.
