Can’t bind Lion Server to AD

Hi all,

Trying to bind a Lion Server to a Win 2k8 AD.
Client can bind ok but the server keeps getting: Authentication Server can not be contacted.(5200)
Same problem using dsconfigad

Lots of people in the same boat on different forums – some have success after fsck but not reliable 🙁

Anybody here come across this?

Just to update:

Dev 10.7.2 seems to fix this.
Also the latest build of Deploy Studio works when using their ADBind script – so that’s what I’m using!

I am actually experiencing this exact issue just today and I am already at 10.7.2! Does anyone have any ideas that I can try other than repairing permissions and fsck?

I came across this yesterday, binding from Server.app’s “Manage” menu (as Apple recommend) gave me the error.
I bound from Directory Utility and all was fine.
… and a clean install of 10.7.2 server highly recommended for AD integration generally.
