    Hi everyone,
I’m just starting to setup an Xserve w/ 10.3 server. I’m in the Workgroup Manager and am not authenticated into our LDAPv3 directory (listed as loopback 127.0.0.1). The new user icon is grayed out so I can’t add new users. The LDAP service is running according to Server Admin. I change to the sharing pane, select the users share, click the network mount tab, click the lock to authenticate, and enter the root password (or the password of the Admin account I’m using to login to the server). I get nowhere as the authentication fails every time. I’m JUST setting the server up, so it’s only ever had 2 passwords – neither work for either account. Is there something I should be enabling?
The server is setup as an Open Directory Master, so this should work. I CAN get into the Netinfo domain to add users and groups, but it’s telling me that it’s changing the local Netinfo domain and not a network available Netinfo domain. I also tried to set it up as an AD Primary Domain Controller, but I’m getting an error that it can’t do it every time I try – so for now it’s a windows standalone server. I DO have another Domain Controller on the same subnet running Windows 2000, BUT it’s named differently that what I had intended to name this server.

Can anyone help with some advice?

    Hey Everyone,
Turns out that I had consistently tried authenticating with a capital letter every time (such as typing Management instead of management for a username). Just a stupid error that was easilly fixable. Thanks!
