Dumb question of the new year…

I want to use just a single drive in my XServe RAID and I can’t seem to figure out how to make it active. Here is what I am looking at:

Upper Controller
1 – 250GB – A
2 – 250GB – A
3 – 250GB – A
4 – 250GB – A
5 – 250GB – Hot Spare For A
6 – 750GB – Not Used (But RAID Admin is seeing them as “spare”)
7 – 750GB – Not Used (But RAID Admin is seeing them as “spare”)

Lower Controller
All 7 drives are 500GB in a RAID 5

I want to use each of the 750 GB drive indivdually, as single drives. I can’t see a way in RAID Admin 1.5.1 to let me do this.

I found some old documentation on Apple’s website about using single disks, but it referenced the old RAID Utility software which I am guessing was replaced my RAID Admin.

Right now, if this is not possible, I could put the two 750 GB drives in the XServe itself. The downside of this is that it would kill off my backup hard drive for my server, but I could image that to another location I guess.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I thought of the JBOD idea, but RAID Admin won’t let me use JBOD on any controller that already has an established RAID array.
