    Hi,

What is the quickest/easiest way to totally block a specific IP Address from accessing my Xserve in any way? Firewall, DNS? How to steps would be nice.

    Thanks in advance,

    Cory

    MacTroll,

What I did was as follows in Server Admin, Firewall, Advanced tab:

    Action: Deny
    Protocal: Other…ip
Service: (left it at default IGMP)

    Source:
Address: Other…xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (IP I wanted to block)
    Port: (blank)

    Destination:
    Address: Other…any in
    Port: (blank)
    Interface: Other…(blank)

    Hit OK.

    Restarted Firewall.

Sound good? Seems to be keeping them out. Should I copy this and add for TCP and UDP as well?

    Thanks,

    Cory

All access from a particular IP…can I change the IGMP to Other…and add any? Would that block all, or do I need a rule for TCP and UDP also?

    Cory
