Binding Ubuntu to OD

Hi

I got an project at home where Im setting up an Mac Mini 2009 with Lion Server and I got an Synology 1511 NAS that I going to use some iSCSI LUNs from.
The GlobalSAN iSCSI initiator don’t work very well with Lion, very slow read speed, and the ATTO one is too expensive for me, so Im planing to use an Ubuntu Server box to do the iSCSI since everything is fast and smooth there.

Im going to use OD on the Lion Server, since I want to use Profile Managment , and then I need to setup OD.
But I think its an good idea to only have 1 base of users, so Im wondering how I can join Ubuntu to OD so I can use the OD users with AFP/SMB filesharing on Ubuntu?
