Does anyone know of any ways to get Apple’s OD components – like passwordserver – to kick out a higher level of detail with regard to logging?

I’m looking for something like what “sudo killall -USR1 DirectoryService” does for DirectoryService and I know that there are lots of secrets out there.

Troubleshooting issues with Open Directory is heavily compounded by the fact that there is scant little information in the logs about what is going on. You’ll work with users in WGM, get errors, and nothing gets logged about the problem – no leads. We’ve found that 10.4’s passwordserver has serious problems with its database that we hope will get fixed soon but it’d be nice if there was a clue in some log somewhere about what was going wrong.
