We have a server with the IP address 192.168.1.1 , our external users use VPN connections but many have home broadband connections that are also 192.168.1, or 192.168.0. , what’s the best VPN IP address range to use to allow best compatibility and of course connection to the afp services provided by the server at 192.168.1.1 . currently we can get authenticated to the VPN server and lease an address but can’t connect to the afp services. i’m no IP guru as you can tell!

You’ve answered your own question. If you change your IP schema to 192.168.x.y (where x != 1 or 0) your VPN clients should have no problem. It can be any arbitrary number of your choosing. I like to use my old football jersey number, it’s easy for me to remember 😀
