I’ve been waiting to migrate my aging linux based uw-imap server to cyrus on our realtively new xserve until sieve works without jumping through any hoops. I was quite pleased to see everything working well with the 10.4.3 update and am about ready to make the switch. Avelsieve is quite nice and much better for users than the procmail scripts we were using. Everything with the setup has gone well except for Avelseive’s automatic spam rules.

The spam rules come up fine in the interface, but looking at the php, it seems that they’re based off the X-Spam-Score header from SpamAssassin. Unfortunately, the vanilla config on our xserve doesn’t add that header, we only get X-Spam-Status and X-Spam-Level. What’s the easiest way to make these work together? I’m open to either modifying the $spamrule_* stuff from avelsieve to interperet different headers or changing the spamassassin stuff to include the X-Spam-Score header.

I tried adding some custom headers to /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf, but those didn’t get added. I believe I read somewhere that spamassassin is driven entirely from amavis and ignored the config files in /etc/mail/spamassassin.

    thanks,
    jay
