Hello,

I want to use the “Archive” function in Server Admin as a script (do it automated – without user intervention). So I can run it just before my backup.

I’ve read some stuff about this on the forum,
but none of the given solutions seems to be working correctly.

Can anyone tell me wich script I should use?

Thank’s

That’s what I meant with the stuff I’m been reading on this forum. The script proposed there, seems to work, but gives me an error…

The shell script gives me this error:
dirserv:command = backupArchive error

(but the bu-files gets created)

The perl script gives me this error:

“You can only target one service at a time with the command option”

Is there an optimized version of one of those?

Thanks

I’ve run into the same issue with the server admin method of backing up OD and have had to resort to using slapconfig and expect.

Has no-one really solved the issue with the script? How are others automating the backup of Open Directory data?
