In ASIP 5/6, I believe there was an option to force users to change their password every x days. I found this to be a good security measure. Also convenient was an option to require a new password at the next login.

I have a customer with OS X Server 10.1, soon to update to 10.2. I didn’t see an option in 10.1 for this, nor in a quick browse through the 10.2 admin guide.

Is there a way to do this in 10.1/10.2 Server? I’m thinking specifically about AFP logins from OS 9/X clients. I suppose there could be a conflict with non-AFP logins (one can’t require a new password via FTP) but I don’t see that as a concern in this case.

    Thanks,

    Mitch

    10.1 – No
10.2 – Yes, BUT only if you use Password Server. Click on Options in Workgroup Manager and there are a few things you can set.
