    Hello all,
I recently updated one of my Intel XServes to 10.4.10. When it rebooted, I could get to the login screen via Remote Desktop. However as soon as it showed the desktop, the screen was all mangled – like looking at an old television that is not tuned in correctly. Has anyone experienced this and know of a fix?

    thanks in advance

we have one monitor down there that we use if we are actually down at the data center. At the moment I do not know for sure which of my servers the monitor is plugged into (KVM switch died so we just move the plug around).

oh yes, I have seen it go wonky also, like you are connected, go to Sys Prefs and change monitor resolution. However usually with that I can close the window, click the “Take Control” icon and all is well. With this, it’s weird in that it only shows up after logging in – however I guess that does point to a user preference that is wonky. I am installing a package right now on that machine, but when it is done I will try a different user.

    thank you for replying

Just tried a different user and had the same problem.
I can get to command line just fine, so if you can think of any utils I should try, I can give that a go.
