OSX Server 10.3 (.0) 10.3 iMacs as clients.

On all clients (bar a new eMac, which behaves just fine), when I launch Keynote or Appleworks, both programs quit when I go to create a new document. This only happens in one login group (teachers) whereas both apps work perfectly in my other group (students). Works fine logged in as admin too.

I do notice that I can’t open Printer Setup Utility in the ‘teachers’ accounts; iMac locks up altogether, won’t even force quit. PSU runs fine in ‘students’ group.

I guess these apps may be doing a page setup check when you chose to create a new document… other builtin apps are fine, IE and Safari and so on.

Do the applications quit before they open fully?? Are you using Workgroup Manager to control printers???

If you are currently using workgroup manager to “control” users printers, try disabling this feature and seeing if the apps run.

Other than that, it may be a corrupt printer setup in printer utility. Usually it will be the default printer. Try changing the default printer and see what happens.
