Not quite sure if this is the right forum, but it is essential to do with mail so I will just dump it here any way.

I want control apple mail settings of our users using mcx. I have pulled out the com.apple.mail.plist file and removed everything from it except the “MailAccounts” section.

This has the information I want. which is the folder mappings for Sent, Deleted, Drafts and Junk e-mail boxes. We are using Kerio mail server so the defaults for these folders are different from the ones used by apple mail. I have managed to get this to work although some information is not pulled in when I open up apple mail.

From what I understand the mcx will only implement settings you have listed. If they are not listed in the plist then they will not be modified.

Working on this assumption when I open up apple mail and check the users account the Description E-mail address and Full Name are blank as well as the selection for the smtp server.

I removed these keys from the plist as they were user specific and that is not what I want. I then put them back in, and entered some random information into them and with them there they work and pull in that information.

My question is, is there a way to make these fields populate with the information relevant to that user? So there Name and there e-mail address?

    Thanks
    Alexis
