Hello Folks,
Every week or so on my workstation I’ll click on something in the GUI unrelated to an AFP mount and I see the following in my system.log.
pr 4 16:08:08 localhost kernel: AFP_VFS afpfs UserCommand: sosend failed for request 32
Apr 4 16:08:08 localhost kernel: AFP_VFS afpfs_Reconnect started /Volumes/SHARED
Apr 4 16:08:08 localhost kernel: AFP_VFS afpfs_Reconnect: connect succeeded
Apr 4 16:08:08 localhost kernel: AFP_VFS afpfs_Reconnect: Opening session
Apr 4 16:08:08 localhost kernel: AFP_VFS afpfs_Reconnect: Logging in
Apr 4 16:08:08 localhost kernel: AFP_VFS afpfs_Reconnect: Restoring session
Apr 4 16:08:08 localhost kernel: AFP_VFS afpfs_Reconnect: primary reconnect succeeded
Apr 4 16:08:08 localhost kernel: AFP_VFS afpfs_Reconnect: afpfs_MountAFPVolume failed 22
Apr 4 16:08:09 localhost kernel: AFP_VFS afpfs_unmount: /Volumes/SHARED, flags 524288, pid 1132
Apr 4 16:08:09 localhost kernel: AFP_VFS afpfs_unmount: succeeded
I don’t understand why the system is loosing these connections. On top of that I don’t understand why it is always able to reconnect to my OS X Server AFP mount, in this case “macapps” and “backup”, but is never able to reconnect to my NetWare 6.5 AFP mounts, in this case “SHARED”.
I run a very clean OS X 10.3.8 dual G4 1.42 Ghz workstation. I have my system.log as my desktop via GeekTool and this is the only third party modification I use. I saw a couple of other people with the same issues when I googled it but nothing of use. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Trent
