AFP Mount Problem

hi,

we have two schools using an AD/OD system that *has* worked, but now not so much…while one school continues to work the other is having AFP issues.

OSX 10.4.11 servers. OSX 10.4.11 clients. everything fully updated.

here are the symptons:

when i try and mount a home folder on server “xxx” as follows:

afp://xxx.xxxx.edu/aki12

i get the “Mount Failed Count not mount volume “aki12”. dialog

using the same workstation when i try and mount another server/user, “yyy”, example:

afp://yyy.xxxx.edu/kki12

it succeeds.

when i look at Server Admin settings for AFP on each machine they are the same. i’ve tried restarting the AFP service on “xxx” and even restarted the “xxx” server. neither worked.

if anyone has a thought on troubleshooting this i’d appreciate it.
