Had heard that I should wait until 10.4.2 before upgrading to Tiger server. Well, now that it’s here, I’m still a bit apprehensive.

I run an Xserve that acts as my local network DNS server, a file-server, and a web server for in-development client web sites, and VPN server.

Any advice or pre-flight plans? Any tutorials for migration? Any gotchas? Really, as you can tell, I’m just looking for any information you can offer on moving from Panther to Tiger.

    TIA.

Yeah, I definitely plan to clone the drive beforehand and all that. Just wondering if there were any known gotchas as far as upgrading certain things went. (“You’ll have to edit this in your httpd.conf file after upgrade.”, etc.). You know specific tips on things.

Of course, I’ve also read the migration guide from Apple, but looking for that invaluable afp548 insider knowledge!

I do know if you need if you use proxy authentication for your servers. You better not uprgrade becuse it doesn’t carry proxy authentication to autenticate with. Works fine with panther.
