Hi,

I am trying to bind 10.6.4 to AD.

Binding seems successful. I can log an AD user i.e tstudent. Then if I log out and try logging in tstaff I get “You are unable to log in to the user account “tstaff” at this time Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred.

If I restart the iMac I will then be able to log tstaff and won’t be able to log tstudent. It appears that after the 1st logon I cannot log anyone else unless I restart the computer.

Here are the logs showing first the successful connection and then the unsuccessful one.

Have you seen this article?

http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3346
Mac OS X v10.6: Successive Active Directory users receive “You are unable to log in to the user account (username) at this time” alert

Active Directory users may receive the message “You are unable to log in to the user account (username) at this time” when trying to log in. This can happen with successive Active Directory users who have home directories on different sharepoints of the same server. They can log in if the Mac OS X client is restarted.

Products Affected
Mac OS X 10.5, Mac OS X 10.6
Resolution
Edit the /etc/auto_master file of the affected Mac OS X client. Comment out the /Network/Servers entry as shown in the example below:
# Automounter master map
#
+auto_master # Use directory service
/net -hosts -nobrowse,hidefromfinder,nosuid
/home auto_home -nobrowse,hidefromfinder
#/Network/Servers -fstab
/- -static
Save the file, then restart.
