    Hi all. I’m having a few issues with a 10.5 server and AFP. After a period of time, >60 mins user logins to AFP get an authentication error. the AFP log shows…

    IP 10.x.x.x – – [28/02/2008:13:47:31 1000] “logout username” -5023 0 0

    This error appears multiple times. Username and password are correct.

    I can connect via VPN with no problems so the issue appears to be AFP only. All currently connected users are fine until they disconnect.

    Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

    What happens if you restart directory services?

    This is a known problem with Leopard server. I was pointed to http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1224346&tstart=0

    Setting up the cron to change the status of guest access under afp seems to have fixed this particular problem but my server is still a bit flakey. Good luck!
