Hi all, we have a server that is driving us nuts.
It’s running 10.6.6 Server and is bound to our AD. It has to be rebooted about once a week because windows clients will be able to access the server’s shares for a while, then authentication stops working. Sometimes restarting SMB via server manager fixes it, but sometimes the server has to be rebooted.
This week we are rebooting the server daily.
The logs for SMB/AFP show the authentication errors but not much else. Our enterprise AD appears to be working correctly, and our 10.5.8 xserves are not having this particular issue.
I was thinking this was a server specific issue but it is happening to another 10.6.6 server in one of our remote offices.
If the data data is not in the smb log, what other log should I be looking at in order to see what is going on?
