Quick question here: is there a string for InstallerChoices.xml that I can use to 1) Set the date & time to sync over the network, 2) enable the root account?

No, as those are not options in the original install of the OS. You might be able to do this using InstaDMG but not by modifying the Choices file.

    Hey snk,

The most detailed post on this forum when it comes to those options(although enabling root is… interesting to roll out in an image) can be found here:

Of note is the designation Mr. Meyer(walt) makes between the things that can get set while the image is being created, and what must be set upon first boot(like time settings.) For my images, I don’t want certain things set globally for all users, so my way of rolling out prefs is a little different(in addition to some of the settings he’s using on first boot) – createUser makes my local admin, and I set a launchd watchpath for the /Users folder to change before shoving some prefs sloppily into my admin’s library folder.

Taking into consideration the date of thread publication, i don’t know where to apply with my issue: i got the scripts to start building the new snow leopard .iso, but here is the problem: it gives me problems with there’s never a bootloader creation log, then again it could be the line where it says installation failed.

    Hey Eduardo,

Could you let us know where you’re having an issue? InstaDMG makes an image for you to restore, not an installer, so I’m confused if you’re expecting the tool to do something different.
