I’ve been reading how to successfully create an image for 10.5.8 and I’m not real clear as to what I’m suppose to do. I read somewhere in the archives of this forum that using Instadmg v250 would work, but that isn’t working. Was there a clear way of creating a PPC 10.5.8 image using instaup2date?

I have done this a few times recently, and it is really simple:

    1) Make sure that you are running on 10.5.8. I have only done this from Intel machines (but have verified that the images work on PPC hardware).

    2) Get your 10.5.x installer disk in place (use the importDisk.py tool with the –legacy option if you have not already created you dmg copy).

    3) sudo path/to/instaUp2Date.py –process 10.5_vanilla

    It is really that easy.

I’ve been making my images booted off from externals, either running 10.6 or 10.5. Have not tried installing 10.5 on an Intel and creating the image. I’ll give that a shot. Thanks!
