I’m itchin to play with 10.5 server, but my OD is still 10.4 (up to date). Had no trouble pointing the leopard box to my OD master, legacy services behave and authenticate as expected. However, when trying to enable Group blogs and wikis, 10.5 server requires that you enable them by Group in WGM. My concern is that these new Group attributes will be written to my 10.4 OD. Will I corrupt something by writing presumably new 10.5 attributes to my 10.4 OD?

I called AES and they weren’t sure, their testing it now, do I trust their response? I’ll post it here when they respond.

AES just called a gave me a cryptic answer. They didn’t answer the question as to whether this would do damage to my 10.4 OD, rather gave me these steps to use:

-bind 10.5 server to 10.4 domain as “connected server”.
-leave 10.5 server bound to 10.4 domain in Directory Utility.
-change role of 10.5 server to OD master.
-then enable wiki and blogs for pre-existing 10.4 groups

Not sure how this works because the local directory would be destroyed when changing the server role. Can anyone elaborate on their experience?
