    Does this article still apply for 10.5?

    The behavior I’m seeing suggests that it does but I want to confirm.

    Yes, I would like to know as well.
    Just today called Apple about the CPU overload showing the OPENFORK entry in the AFP
    connections log.

    Early Intel Xserve recently updated to 10.5.8.
    Any ideas?
