Wonder if anyone can help with this little doozie?

Server 2003, SP2, healthy Active Directory (Windows clients bind just fine), but an OS X 10.4.10 computer refuses. Symptoms are stalling for 10 minutes+ at “Stage 5” then the ultra-useful “Unknown Error” message.

I put DirectoryService into debug mode, this is the “tail end” where it errors out:

Any help greatly appreciated. Based on googling, this isn’t a *common* problem, but it has occurred before – never resolved based on my research 🙁
