My company has a new client that has configuration:

    Xserve 1.3Ghz
    – 10.3.9 server
    – PDM with roaming profiles for around 40 users.
    – hosting email with imap access for all 40 users.

The server in my opinion is over tasked for what it is doing.

I would like to upgrade the server 10.4 and add another Xserve.
I want to move the PDM and profiles to the new server and leave
the email on the existing server.

My concern is that I’ve heard alot of problems with PDC on 10.4 server so i’m not sure what to do?

No responded to my first question so I will change the question.

Does 10.4.6 server acting as a Primary Domain Controller(PDC) work well. I heard that there was alot of problems in the beginning of 10.4 with windows file sharing, has those problems been fixed?

I have been managing a few OD domains running 10.4 since about December. They all work great…. Actually after 10.4.3 came out they function better then the 10.3.9 OD domains I still have in place at 2 of my sites. The only issue I have noticed is DNS in 10.4 Server is very unstable it will randomly die throughout the day so if you host your own DNS on the box too I would keep it on the 10.3 box.
