I am trying to set up my first server using 10.3 OSX server. I’ve had the software forever but never got around to actually installing it till now. I am trying to simulate a work environment where Win XP clients login and have access to their /home directory and one other share. I also have a separate router that my internet connection. I’ve set the Server IP manually at 192.168.0.1 and the router manually at 192.168.0.2. I’ve established a connection to the internet with the server.

I’ve downloaded the server manuals and I’ve tried to work through everything but I’m obviously not experienced enough to get an Win XP machines to log in. Not sure where to look where I’ve gone wrong. Not sure what settings should be in LDAP, they are all blank on that window and my XP machines are unable to get an ip address. Everything is networked together on the router and I’ve turned off DHCP on the router and turned off the firewall on the server until its connected.

Where should I start looking, I’m a bit confused what then names should be for the DNS, domain etc…should they be the same?

Thank you. I know its older software but stilll good right?
