Looking Forward to MacTech Conference 2014

It’s hard to believe, but the fifth, yes the fifth, annual MacTech conference will be held this year in Los Angeles, CA at the beautiful Manhattan Beach Marriott from November 5th-7th, with a full day of pre-conference workshops occurring on November 4th. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been able to attend MacTech Conference every year since it’s inception, and trust me, it is not an event you’ll want to miss. MacTech Conference consistently has some of the best session content from some of the most talented speakers in the industry along with the best evening networking-building events you’ll ever experience, period.

It may seem a bit early to begin thinking about/planning for a conference that isn’t until November, but the discounted room rate for the hotel (link below) is expected to sell out quickly. Also, MacTech is offering an amazing “super early bird” discount price of just $899 until June 15th. That’s a $600 savings over the normal cost of a ticket.

Highlights to look forward to this year
– The main conference event is three full days this year, with sessions scheduled for all-day November 5th-7th, meaning this year has more sessions and more labs than ever before as well as an expanded opportunity to meet with vendors in vendor forums
– There are eight pre-conference workshops happening on November 4th, including two certification/accreditation workshops, with other topics including Objective-C/Cocoa, Security, OS X Server, and more.
– Attendees can get both Apple certified and Microsoft Office for Mac certified on the same day!

Evening Events
MacTech hasn’t yet announced what the evening events will be for this year, but they did say that attendees will definitely want to keep their schedules open on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Previous year events have included a trip to Griffith Observatory, a special evening at Walt Disney Animation Studios, a trip to see the Space Shuttle Endeavor, a geek march on Universal Studios’ CityWalk to Jillian’s, and more. I can’t emphasize enough how amazing these evening events have been; they’ve been both fun and rewarding in terms of a professional networking perspective. Where else could you bowl with the engineering manager for OS X Server and desktop management solutions from Apple, or play laser tag with the developer of Munki?

Pricing
As I mentioned earlier, MacTech is offering an amazing “super early bird” discount price of just $899 until June 15th. That’s a $600 savings over the normal cost of a ticket. You can see the pricing plan and dates at the link below.
