ParticipantDidn’t try using mkpassdb as there didn’t seem to be any password server there!
No juice on the rest though Joel, I’ve had to use NeST to restore an OD password for an admin on a number of occasions but this is very different – the default admin appears to have an OD password but there is no passwordservice entry in the LDAP database! We had to wipe this server to get it going again, and this time used the install, configure, upgrade path and all was well. I just want to make sure that noone else has to go through a day like Tuesday!

ParticipantThis is weird – installed on one server fine, works OK. Same installation
procedure, filters are there but 2 diferences. 1. They are only accesible for
some uesrs if they use their default short name (not mail alias). 2. The filters
don’t work (well I’ve only tried Vacation) it accepts the mail and sends no
response back.Anybody?????

ParticipantThat seemed to do the trick after we re-wrote the edu.mit.kereberos file. It had the AD KDC info ahead of the OD KDC info. Once we swapped it about and locked it, it worked every time. One of those “not sure what went on there but it works” moments!!
Cheers

ParticipantAnyone had this – AD integration is fine, we have a set of managed preferences for workgroups using the AD user accounts form the Win2K server and everything is sweetness and light… for a couple of days/restarts. Then one by one the macs just stop authenticating. Doing the usual stuff (deleting the edu.mit.kerboros file, unbinding and rebinding solves the problem but again only for a couple of days/restarts. We’re most befuddled!!.. any help very appreciated.
