ParticipantThanks for the Tip. I will try it when I move the Server to the new G5 we have to replace our G4 Dual. I still have a real problem of apple using and UNSTABLE release of the CUPS software. 10.3.X has version 1.1.20rc1 installed a “devel” release NOT STABLE! 10.2.8 has 1.1.15-2 CUPS a Stable version. Why did they go so High? 1.1.19 I believe is the last stable or 1.1.17 maybe. There are printing problems all over if you read all the forums. Some get fix some don’t and some fixes are just workarounds. This is no way to release a Finished product and especially a Sever based one. 👿

ParticipantSince I switched from ASIP 6.3.3 to X.2 now X.3 I’ve been waiting for Group ownership. It’s about time, lol. I hope the AFP performance is improved too.

Hi Troll,
As far as the Link Speeds an Network Config goes I’ll go into more details later but it is a switched network. Server is on a Giga Switch and is at full Duplex last I cheaked.
The ASIP system is intacted cause I have had to return to it several times. I also want to put some hard numbers together for Apple so I’ll try to get this all by fri. or over the weekend.
I’ll look and post log entries later.
Since DNS is on a separate Mac running QuickDNSPro i’ll make those entries there. The only thing I fear with DNS is that it is a Public DNS Server. I don’t want to have private network information on it for a public Domain but OK. I’ll get it done and see how it goes.
BTW Hackers can Tunnel that info out of DNS servers and try to pass through NAT networks. 😈 -
