This is happening to me without any idea why. Hopefully, someone can provide a solution.

So you are saying there is potential for hope for those that want a firewire 800 port on their Powerbook intel (the Powerbook name precludes PowerPC, so this is still a Powerbook in my mind.)

I am running 10.3.4. I am looking in the logs without seeing anything strange. In fact, I don’t see any entry for denied access, except when a username is wrong due to a mistype.

Could it be an issue with how the keychain stores MD5, which causes the client to error before even attempting to connect?

MacTroll has posted a solution in the forums…

    1. Delete /Library/Receipts/timsieved.pkg/
    2. Rerun the installer.

    I’ve figured out something…

    http://yourURL/WebMail/plugins/avelsieve/table.php?sieve_loggedin=true

this will give you a different error. However, hitting the back button, then
hitting “Filters” again will allow you to edit filters without an error.

This will stick until you logout of WebMail.

I don’t have time to figure out what this means, but I figured I would give it to
    others to ponder as well.

I too am getting this error. I’ve tried following the directions given again to
no avail. It did work at first, then decided to be bad.
