    Hi,
I’m trying to use VaporSec to connect to a Sonicwall SOHO3. I believe I have all the parameters from the SOHO entered into VaporSec correctly, but when I “Vaporize” I get the following message as part of the log output:

May 11 20:26:33 localhost racoon: ERROR: isakmp.c:1520:isakmp_setup_socket(): failed to bind (Address already in use).

What does this mean and how do I fix it?

    System info:
PowerBook G3 running OS X v.10.3.3 with latest updates.
Connecting via Airport (Graphite) base station w/ no DHCP on.
ABS connected via ethernet to MacSense MIH X-120 router w/ DHCP on.
    Router connected via Verizon DSL.

Any assistance would be appreciated. What other information would be helpful in attempting to debug this connection?

    Thanks very much,
    Randy

Tried both, but no success. I get the same message trying VaporSec after a reboot as I did before.

Thanks for the suggestion. Any others?

Are you running any other VPN software which might bind to the port at startup? Perhaps Nortel or Cisco? If so, it may need to be disabled. Generally there is a script to start/stop the service.

No, no other VPN software in use. I had tried following the Flying Racoons article to set it up, but it wasn’t working, so I passed and installed VaporSec to try. I have rebooted, but as I said above, that didn’t work. What port is trying to be used? Is there any way to determine what else might be using it?

    Thanks,
    -R
