Slow XP logoff!

I am running Tiger Server 10.4.4 with both Windows and Mac clients, the XP logoffs take abnormally long and the hard drive seems to be grinding away on something from 2 to 5 minutes. The Windows clients don't even have home dirs to write to. Any one have any idea's?
