Sharing Fonts folder via NFS

Hello,

Not all fonts are showing in a user’s font list when shared on a Network/Library/Fonts directory. The only fonts that show up are Open Type fonts. None of my PostScript Type 1 and TrueType fonts shows.

Here is how I have things setup on my server, which is an Xserve G5 with lots of RAM and plenty of hard disk space:

Using WGM, selecting the folder I created (within the Shared Items folder which is on the root level of hard drive, I created Library/Fonts and put all fonts inside the Fonts folder) under Sharing -> Protocols and in sub-menu NFS Export Settings, Export this item and its contents to: World, Read-only.

Then, I went to Sharing -> Protocols -> Network Mount and Create a mount…, Where: LDAPv3/127.0.0.1, Protocol: NFS, Use For: Shared Library.

Again, all of my Open Type fonts show up on all my Mac clients (running OS 10.3.7 or >) but no PostScript Type 1 and TrueType fonts. I tried to add extensions to my true type fonts (.ttf), but no luck. Do not know what the extension is for type 1 fonts on a Mac. Anyone know? One thing to keep in mind about Type 1 fonts is that they have screen fonts to accompany them.

Did I miss a step or do something wrong?

Thank you and have a bless day!
Gregory
