I am having serious issues with close deadline and i have not been able to find anybody yet that could help out with this issue.

First off OS and machine info.

Mac Os X Panther 3.2
Xserve DP G4 Dual Giga port

I do a clean install of the xserve
hostname : host.test.lan
en0 Built in ethernet external ip address
en0 Pci ethernet card Internal ip address

external ip in eno to xserve / firewall – en1 internal ip for DNS, Router and Open Directory

the external ip address is for internet and so on the internal for the DNS and all networking services.

I set up all services and after I set up kerberos and kdc but 1 there is a conflict between kerberos/kdc in Open Directory and the external ip.

It seems like the kdc tries to get the dns of the 1st ethernet card in system preferences even if the dns is setup with the internal ip.. nat turned on on en0 (external ip) …. I dont understand how to trouble shoot. Tried the hints (great ones too) for FEEDBACK !!

Thanks
what do you mean by “conflict”
I have the same problem… i don’t think its a conflict!

It seems like Kerberos uses the external interface’s dns settings.

How can one change Kerberos to check against the internal interfaces dns settings?

Thanks.
