MCX not updating properly

OK, let me give you a quick run through of everything, and I could use any help anyone could give me. My environment: 6,000 Macbooks in a 1:1 educational deployment all clients running 10.5.3 30 Xserves all running 10.5.4 OS X Server Managed completely though OD, 1 ODM 5 ODRs and 10 tier 2 replicas replicating off of the ODRs We are currently still deploying laptops to the student base. In the beginning I was toying with ideas of how to implement group policy. In the end I decided to make a major change in group policy. However, we had already deployed several hundred laptops. These several hundred are not getting updated policy, even after rebooting, so something in MCX isn't updating properly. If I go into the client machine and wipe out the MCX and reboot, it takes down a new copy and all is good, but it won't update from log in/out or even a reboot. I think it has to do with MCX being possibly not being updated or over written. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any advice. tom
