Help on local MCX setting

Can someone please tell me why this command will not run as part of a script run as admin, but will run successfully, if I type it in at a terminal window, as admin? /usr/bin/dscl . -create /Computers/LabMachine `/usr/bin/dscl . -read /Computers/$computerRecordName ENetAddress | cut -f2 -d " "` Thank you!!!
