For reasons I don’t want to go into (super long story bro type thing) I need to disable the software update checker, the thing that bounces on the dock and says hey you need updates. This is because it kills a log in script if it is running that invokes the softwareupdate binary command.

So far I am looking into dragging the software update app itself into WGM and the scheduler.plist found in every user’s home folder to make it from stop running, but can’t quite make it happen.

    Tips, tricks, and help please?

    Thanks

    Tom

I have the same issue. This post has a possible solution:

I’m going to try it now.

I think if maybe I just delete this…

    /System/Library/CoreServices/Software Update.app/Contents/Resources/SoftwareUpdateCheck

It is a completely separate app with in software update that seems to auto check for updates. I wonder if I just delete it…?
