Can’t login until you restart?

Hi all,

weird problem,
AD/OD integrated client with home folder on smb share. Turn on computer, log in as an ad user, everything works great. Logout, next user can not log in but the previous one still can. If you restart the next user can log in.
Client/Server both 10.6

Ideas?

I saw this at my old job but it was with eDirectory and not AD. The problem we had was at log out, it was not unmounting all the shares from the previous user. So the next user could not log in because the share was mounted under that previous user I believe. That was a long time ago though, the 10.4 days. A restart would unmount everything, so that is why I am guessing that.

Is it still causing you problems?
We had this issue on all our sites – drove me nuts for over a year.

I’m guessing most likely you have each others home folder stored in different shares? eg
\\dc1\user1$
\\dc1\user2$

or
\\dc1\staff$\bob\
\\dc1\users$\john\

(sorry short of time at the moment so can’t dig out the info and type it up)
